John Conner is the same John but not really the one that saves the world. John dies in this movie... he is killed by the Terminators and They (the humans) feel like the war is over if he does die... so they put John's skin on Marcus (who is a cyborg aka the Original Terminator, he got a get out of jail free pass for going under the knife for sky net) and keeps the fight alive... a machine/man fighting the machine dressed in the skin of John Connor. That’s the spoiler think on that shit….
