Hello, this is your Midnight Marauder SEATTLE tour guide. I will be enhancing your Seattle experience with certain facts that you might find beneficial. I hope that you will find my presentation precise. :D
Welcome to Seattle:
Of the city's population over the age of 25, 47.2 percent (vs. a national average of 24 percent) hold a bachelor's degree or higher; 93 percent (vs. 80 percent nationally) have a high school diploma or equivalent. A United States Census Bureau survey showed that Seattle has the highest percentage of college graduates of any major U.S. city.
First Stop, The Central District. Please keep your hands inside the vehicle. This could get dangerous.
According to Wikipedia, The neighborhood's population is 22,200. 42.6% of residents are White or Caucasian, 36.4% are Black or African American, 7.8% Asian, 1.2% Native American, 0.5% Pacific Islander, 6.9% Hispanic, and 5.3% mixed race. 15.6% of families and 19.6% of the population are below poverty line.
Compared to the United States 16% average of families below the poverty line. I'd say the folks here are doing alright.
You see how clean that street is? Look at how nice that house is behind him. This is not a bad place to live.
Also according to Wikipedia: The Central District has long been known to have a high crime rate. In the 1980s and 90s, the neighborhood struggled with gang violence but this has declined significantly in recent years.
See? Next time you're in the Central District, (nicknamed "CD" because there's lots of crappy rappers selling CD's out there.) make sure you partake in one of =!='s favorite past times. When you see some kids on the street pretending to be hard and taking myspace photos, roll down your window and scream "FUCK THE CD!"
Stay tuned for part 2 tomorrow.
WE'RE MOVING SOON. DON'T PAY US ANY ATTENTION. THIS VERSION OF DROP-BOMB is officially DEAD.
