Nasty Nate Burleson Out For Season

Seahawks wide receiver Nate Burleson is out for the season because of a knee injury.

Burleson tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee while trying to cut outside on a pass pattern on a rain-slicked field in Buffalo on Sunday during Seattle's 34-10 loss in its season opener.

Coach Mike Holmgren said his team will also again be without veteran receivers Deion Branch and Bobby Engram for this Sunday's game against San Francisco. Branch is seven months into recovery for reconstructive knee surgery similar to what Burleson now faces. Engram may be out into October with a broken shoulder.

Seattle has three healthy receivers on its roster. Holmgren says the team may sign a veteran free agent before practice on Wednesday.

Starting running back Maurice Morris will also miss at least the next two games with a sprained knee. Former Dallas lead runner Julius Jones will start against the 49ers.

This goes back to my preseason thoughts that we might trade for Chad Johnson Ocho Cinco. Throw a first round pick their way, and let him put whatever the fk he wants on his jersey. Although he does have a shoulder injury right now. So Trade for BOLDIN! FK the Cardinals.

Instead of that SeaHawk SILLINESS!!!! Some Raider highlights.

It's almost that time.  You know it's time to get ready to root for your favorite NFL team when Madden is about to hit the shelves.  Week one of the pre-season is outta tha way.  Now it's officially the time for fans to talk exaggerated shit to each other because it's no way we can tell who is who yet.  Now, my turn to ruffle some FEATHERS, GO RAIDERS!  HAH! Yea, you damn straight I'm a Raider fan.  F**k all your other teams!  And those birds who stay in the cold who will NOT DO SH*T THIS YEAR!!!   I'm kiddin', they'll be pretty good.  Be prepared for me to do alot of week one analysis this year.  Football is my cup of tea.. Anyway!

Raiders VS 49ers, pre-season week 1..

Well anyway, I can't wait til this season starts, cuz I love how Darren McFadden HITS THE HOLE!  An SEC version of Reggie Bush, meanin' bigger, stronger, may be a tid bit slower.  But unlike Bush.  Mr. McFadden HITS THE HOLE, with no hesitation, and he's fast as hell, can't wait to see 'em break one.  It's still a rebuildin' year for us.

Bobby Engram Out for 2 Months

Seahawks leading receiver Bobby Engram will miss six to eight weeks with a cracked shoulder, coach Mike Holmgren says.

The 35-year-old Engram set a Seattle franchise record last season with 94 catches and then skipped offseason minicamps while in a dispute over his contract that expires after this season.

Madden 09 - First Roster Update

They just put the finishing touches on the first Madden roster update.

Here's a few important details:

QB Brett Favre – Traded to Jets
HB LaMont Jordan – Released by Raiders/Signs with Patriots
TE Jeremy Shockey – Traded to Saints
SS Mike Green – Released by Seahawks
SS Jamar Adams – Signs with Seahawks
DE Michael Strahan – Retires

--
HB Ricky Williams – Dolphins – 83 to 85 – Ricky looks like “a beast” and is running very hard and should get plenty of carries this year in Miami.
DT Red Bryant – Seahawks – 74 to 78 – An injury derailed his strong start to camp.
DT Brandon Mebane – Seahawks – 80 to 82 – Very strong DT who bull rushed his way to 29 tackles and 2 sacks his rookie season.

--
QB John Beck – Dolphins – 78 to 77 – His nickname is “Checkdown” by a local Miami writer. Guess that is what happens when you are accustomed to having 0.6 seconds to throw.
WR Mario Manningham – Giants – 78 to 76 – Has looked slow and can’t get open in New York so far.

--

If you live in Seattle. I'll see you at midnight at your local Wal-Mart

Madden 09 Feature: Seattle Seahawks

Maddenlist is focusing on 32 teams in 32 days, looking in depth at the roster and player ratings. Today is Seattle's turn.

BIGGEST OVERACHIEVER: QB Matt Hasselbeck (91 OVR)

Matt Hasselbeck has always been a reliable Quarterback with good accuracy in both real life and madden. Vince Young has a 88 OVR, he threw for 2,500 yards and 9 TD’s. Hasselbeck threw for nearly 4,000 yards and 28 TD’s. He deserves to be given a little more credit. His OVR rating should change to a 94. He was actually a 92 last year and he did nothing to have his rating lowered.
