Sample of the Week (Horror Movies)
So in the spirit of halloween. I done pissed myself off. I already did biterphobia which makes it's own sort of horror movie sound. So now, I'm gonna list everything I know can think of that samples some horror movies or has the spirit.
Mobb Deep - Horror Flick (No official sample, but bites the usual halloween sound)
Biter: RBX f. Lady of Rage - Murder Inc (Writer: Halloween)
Biter: Prodigy f. Nas - Self Conscience (Writer: The Exorcist)
Biter: Canibus - Genabis (Writer: Candyman)
Biter: Group Home - Straight Brooklyn (Writer: The Burning)
Biter: Gravediggaz - Diary of a Madman (Writer: Devil's Nightmare)
I feel like there's a ton more out there. H Dilla who happens to be the #1 horror movie fan on earth can probably name off a ton more. But since I don't want to be up all night trying to find old ass records (can anyone find me that RBX track?). I'll stick with the simple halloween related sample. :)
Biter: The Game - Ghost Unit (Intro)
(Push Yayo back to Christmas Eve)
I don't know about ya'll. but I fuxed with this album. I remember the day Henry put it in the car. We spent many days laughing our asses off to the money mike / young gunz diss. lol.
Writer: Ghostbusters Theme Song
Anyway while you're in the mood check out URB mags run down of five classic hip-hop videos that might make the weaker of y'all wet the bed. 5 Classic Scary Music Videos

MOP Sues John Cena over Illegal Sample
Tsk tsk. Word is that MOP is suing John Cena for 150 Grand because a "relatively unknown seattle producer" (aka Jake One) sampled their song "Ante Up" on John Cena's track. Jake is not named in the suit, but I know he did some work for John Cena's album. I'm not about to look up the credits for a John Cena album neither. Because honestly, you don't really care. lol. Big ups to the hustlas of the rain for posting the story. I'm a rain drop H-U-S-T-L-E HustleR! lol. Get it? John Cena x murs remix ahhh fuckit.
Ante up:
Maybe they can settle this one in the ring. I'm not so sure that's to John Cena's advantage either, you see those mafuckas? They're huge.
Weeellll.. Since "Padded Room" didn't drop today.. We do get "HalfWay House"
It's on sale at Amalgam Digital (Joey's record label.) It's $8.99, but hell, it's a hell-of-a-mixtape. So I can't post a free download. But I do recommend you get your hands on it. It's all original beats, with no Djs, so it's just like an album. Quality of music is better than alot of albums floatin' 'round anyway, so.. Why not support it?

Soulful Sundaes - De La Soul - Trying People
Imeem wasn't working so I had to youtube it. This song is hypnotizing to me. It goes "IN" on SO many important topics. It's ... amazing.
I'm tryin to pop a hole in your Yankee cap
Absorb me
The skies over your head aint safe no more
And Hip Hop aint your home
And if it is then you fuckin up the crib son
You make life look like I don't wanna live one
You might as well hold your
breath until you die in a
corner somewhere bent over in the crevice
This God Theory overcomes the worst of weathers
As long as you willin to try,
you on a good start homie
Well, what you wanna be?
We wanna be ready!
Do you wanna lose hate for love?
Yes!
Do you wanna see these gates above?
Yes!
I said people are you ready?
Yes we're ready!
But are you willing to try?
We wanna try harder!
Do you really wanna carry some weight?
Yes!
Are you ready to design your fate?
Yes!
Yo, people are you ready?
Yes we're ready!
Well what you wanna be?
We wanna be ready!..

Sample of the Week: (Willy North Pole)
So I felt like dropping a sample in the middle of the week because I'm pissed off that I didn't get to do the one I wanted to last week and because I can't find anything else to put on here at the minute.
This song was always dope to me. It came out right in between Carter 1 and 2 and wayne was JUST getting his flow down perfect. TI kills his verse and the girls are on point.
Writer: Destiny's Child ft Lil Wayne & TI - Soldier
How come every god damn time this damn willy north pole video comes on mtv or something, it NEVER shows the artist and credits? That's the only video ever to do that. lol. Anyway, they take Weezy's verse and chop it up for a pretty dope sample. Lil Wayne: Most sampled hip-hop artist? Next to biggie? (that's a jay-z joke.)
Willy North Pole - Body Marked Up
At 2:30: "I'm in the club with them thangs that POW POW, thug, turn around and keep dancin to bow wow."
What a coincidence... Cuz I'm in the club with my girl's ass thats like POWWWWWWWW POWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!
hahahahahaha. Seriously. We call her pow pow.

Emerald City Journeys to Oklahoma (booo Thunder!)
Henry McComas (director of the critically acclaimed film, Emerald City) has posted his blog about the trip on Crookedlp.com.
Stay tuned for more information on his newest project Pheonix Falling:
With that being said, Crookedlp.com, I cannot let this feeling escape; I have started pre-production for my next budgeted film “PHOENIX FALLING.” The film has had me interviewing geneticists, doctors, and piles of books for my latest dramatic, Science Fiction project. But that story is for another day. I will tell you all about it next time.
Check out CrookedLakeProductions.com, the MySpace, and EmeraldCity.
Soulful Sundaes: Terrence Howard - Shine Through It
This man never ceases to amaze me. Shame he got his spot in Iron Man 2 jacked. I'm pretty sure it's only going to do a 30 second preview when I embed it, so follow through to Imeem to get the full effect. Definitely worth it.
Off his new album of the same name "Shine Through it" in Stores Now. Going to go buy it now myself.

Sample of the Week (Billy Paul)
Shiiit. Well, I had an original sample in mind, but the song ain't on imeem, so I was going to download it, than upload it to imeem. Then zshare was being a bitch, so I went looking for the album bootleggy style, but all those links were expired. So this will have to do for now until I can get that file off zshare. It is after all Mrs. Tia Jones' Birthday. Sort of. For the last 5 weeks. But that's the irrelevant part.
For now here's a different Billy Paul one to hold you over a day or two. Remember a few years back, some guy Lil Rok came out with a song and it was a huge hit and we never heard from him again? Yeah. Gravediggaz get no love.
Writer: Billy Paul - Me & Mrs Jones
Biter: Lil Rok - Me & Mrs Jones
chyeaa working on getting that other song. Hold tight.
W
I'm not going to get into the politics of it all, but the film was more biased than it needed to be. The pretzel incident, while hilarious, isn't really necessary for the plot attempt at who this man really is, and what he believed and the things that led to some important decisions for the United States. Neither is him visiting the soldiers looking like a doofus. I can appreciate a cheap laugh. But from the man who did JFK and Nixon, you expect a little better.
At the same time showing deep discussions of a guy who just wanted to make his dad proud, and confused about life growing up, and his rebirth. Stuff that's supposed to be in a biopic. I feel they could have included more of these war room discussions, more evil swindling dick cheney who's exit plan consisted of "We DON'T exit." More MEAT.
Go for the laughs, stay for the impressions. The movie was obviously rushed to be done for November and perhaps this one would have been better served waiting for the Bush legacy to actually conclude and then maybe the movie would have an ending as well. Just my thoughts.

Kanye West - Heartless
Again. I'm against the grain of the whole hip-hop crowd I guess because I fux with everything from this album so far. I know everyone's mad at the auto tune. But to me it doesn't sound bad. When it sounds bad, I hate it. But I'm not mad. I'm not sure I want to hear Kanye singing without it. lol.
Anyway. Thoughts?

URB Magazine Reviews 808's & Heartbreak
In basketball, they call it a "heat check." Kobe Bryant has just hit eight shots in a row, so he pulls up from 35 feet just because he's open, just because he can, just to see how hot he really is. Most of the time, these shots tend to clang off the side of the rim. Kanye West's 808s & Heartbreak is that.
There is almost no rapping on 808s & Heartbreak. Only a particularly villainous guest spot from Young Jeezy could qualify as actual rhyming. And it's an album highlight. And yes, Kanye uses autotune throughout the entire album.
Whether those same fans will buy into Kanye's heat check is unknown, but the idea is so focused (and occasionally flirting with monotony), that they'll be forced to tear it off the wall...either to stomp on and throw in the trash or steal it for their own wall.
So essentially if you fux with Love Lockdown, You'll likely fux with the album.

Blue Scholars with Common Market
8 p.m. Saturday the 18th, Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave., Everett; 425-258-6766, www.everetttheatre.org; tickets are $16.50.
The everett theatre is hurtin for cash, so they decided to throw a huge concert with two of the biggest names in Seattle hip-hop. Good idea.
You also have to have ticket sales. The 834-seat theater needs to bring in 300 people to cover the cost of the Blue Scholars show, Beeson said.
"We can't do anything but break even, because there's nothing to fall back on," he said.
With 140 tickets sold as of Monday, success is not yet in hand. If the show falters, however, it won't be for a lack of trying. Capon and his friends plan to hand out as many as 5,000 fliers. They set up a table at the Everett Mall on Sunday, and on Monday, hit Everett Community College.

Soulful Sundaes: Mayo
Allow me to clarify something: Soulful Sundae's has never been about that NEW NEW shit. It's just something to relax to before you start your hard work week. Maybe something to jog a memory of some shit from 1994, just some shit that we're bumping currently, and even better if it coincides with some new shit. Then once we got bit on Soothing soulful sundays or whatever, we switched the shit up to every day and any day with soulful sundaes. Because there's always time for dessert.
I don't think it's ever been explained publicly, so I wanted to get that out there. Sometimes I imagine conversations and blog posts. So with that said. This song has been stuck in my head all week and the hook makes me laugh out loud for real.
But while we're on the topic:
