Madden 2010 Sizzler Trailer

Unfortunately... I'm already pickin' apart what I don't like.  But, this is the rough draft, so... Hopefully I'll get my wish.....  QB's with a good release and a true deep ball.... *sigh*

It's About THAT time...

Every year the game gets better and worse at the same time. They'll fix one bug and then another one pops up. Still a must cop.

Sidebar: NFL draft tomorrow. Any predictions / Thoughts? I'm thinkin seahawks take OT Jason Smith or LB Curry. I think the talk about QB Sanchez is just bluffing to get teams to try and trade up. Hasselback can make it another few years. Walter might be good for another one or two but it'd be nice to get both positions taken care of while we're high up in this draft this year cuz next year we gonna be last cuz we winnin all that shit. But lucky for Fresh the Raiders have good draft position every year. hahaha.

John Madden Calls it Quits. The End of an Era.

I say this with great sadness..John Madden, the greatest sports commentator of all time..(Yes, better than Hubie Brown and Marv Albert)and the creator of the Madden football juggernaut..is finally saying goodbye to the game that he has been involved with in one way, shape, or form for the last 50+ years. I guess all good things must come to an end though..ehhh. Hopefully they don't stop making Madden Football!!! EA Sports would be in a world of hurt financially, and we would all be in a world of hurt recreationally.

NBC reports: Popular U.S. sports broadcaster John Madden is retiring from the world of broadcasting at the age of 73, NBC said Thursday.

"It's time. I'm 73 years old," Madden said in the online postings. "My 50th wedding anniversary is this fall. I have two great sons and their families and my five grandchildren are at an age now when they know when I'm home and, more importantly, when I'm not..."

Madden, a former NFL head coach who was paired with broadcaster Pat Summerall for most of his 1980s and '90s broadcasts, helped the Oakland Raiders win Super Bowl XI over the Minnesota Vikings.

Tom Brady = Most Overrated QB ever

What did I say for the last few years to everyone whenever this subject came up? "Throw anybody in the qb slot, with THAT good of a team, and anyone can become a legendary QB"

This just proves my point. Patriots are 7-4 today after Cassell (their backup QB) Threw 415 yards, and hit Moss for 3 TDs.

When the backup QB is having consecutive 400 yard weeks this is not a coincidence.

End rant.

Ocho Cinco

Chad Johnson has LEGALLY changed his last name to Ocho Cinco. Now he can wear his nickname on his jersey without penalty. This dude is nuts.

A Fresh Geek Breakdown - Madden 09

Yall like how I found the boy Eli for the 09 cover huh?  Lol.  Anyway.  Everybody knows what Madden is, and reason why it's so hyped every year already.  But, it's up to me to give the true, honest break down.

Alright, soon as you power up the game, you're welcomed by the great John Madden himself.  Sorta refreshin' since he hasn't been in any of the games the past few years.  Anyway, you're about to take what is called the "Madden Test" to get your "Madden IQ."  Sadly, it's many flaws with this IQ system.  For one, you start off with runnin' the ball, which it itself is to easy.  (At least to me it is.)  Then you start the passing drills.  Now this drill is fine until it gets to the upper levels where it's 4 DBs and 1 LB.  And it's bad because you don't know what route your receivers are running.  When most passing plays (if you know football, and are very good) are built on timing.  Run defense is a waste of time, because even if you get to the running back sometimes, he'll still break the tackle.  Pass defense is alil' better, when you're covering the WR, but when the QB ALWAYS starts to pass it where you're not, and your CBs don't cover well, what can you do??  And rushin' the QB is pointless, you won't make it.  And after all this, if you do to well, say for example on the run drill.  And you play a game according to your Madden difficulty level.  It'll be impossible to break a 100 yard game, because it gets ridiculous hard to do anything.

Anyway, on to the better points of this game.  You'll see Madden has a pretty coo' lil' presentation.  Now their were a few "issues" that kept me away from EA football games in the past few years.  The game wasn't realistic in years past on the Next-Gen systems (Xbox 360, PS3.)  I don't care what you punks say, you know there was some shit you couldn't stand about the game.  It's still a few issues about this one that gets on my nerves, but it's not glaring issues.

  1. If you're like how I was in years past, you liked to catch the pass with your WR on your own.  Well, for whatever reason, even if you do your hardest, your receiver just WILL NOT jump for the ball.  If it is a way to get the damn receiver to jump for the ball someone holla at me ASAP.
  2. Also, when you're playin' QB, you can't lob a deep ball, it'll always hang in the air to long.  9 / 10 the DB will catch up to the ball, n you can forget about it if it's a good DB on you.
  3. Its hard to tell if you made a kick or not because of the camera angle
  4. The ball doesn't spiral, WTF!?
  5. And I am PISSED PISSED PISSED that they took out QB vision, that was one thing they had in the game that was the most realistic.
Anyway, those are the only real game-play issues I have.  But there are some things I love.  I love how you can control your ball carrier now, the juke stick has greatly improved.  And gettin' that second chance after bein' grappled by one person, sometimes it's alil' unrealistic, but for the most part it's what you'd see in the NFL.  And when you're tacklin' now, you're hittin' hard alot, which is alil' unreal, but it's a video game.  But I'm finally glad you can smack a muthafucka that comes up the middle with your saftey.  I've been beggin' for that for YEARS! (Ask Mike.)  Now I'ma lay his punk ass out whenever he gets online to come see me.  Anyway.  The playbook is alil' bland, and could use more plays, but it'll do.

As far as the modes n stuff, they're pretty much the same.  Only thing really new is Online Leagues.  But I hear they have their kinks too.  I can't make this review to long, cuz a video game is a bit deeper than a CD, so I'ma end it here.

Game Ratin' - 8.0 / 10
Worth Buyin' - I'm sure you have it already

Instead of that SeaHawk SILLINESS!!!! Some Raider highlights.

It's almost that time.  You know it's time to get ready to root for your favorite NFL team when Madden is about to hit the shelves.  Week one of the pre-season is outta tha way.  Now it's officially the time for fans to talk exaggerated shit to each other because it's no way we can tell who is who yet.  Now, my turn to ruffle some FEATHERS, GO RAIDERS!  HAH! Yea, you damn straight I'm a Raider fan.  F**k all your other teams!  And those birds who stay in the cold who will NOT DO SH*T THIS YEAR!!!   I'm kiddin', they'll be pretty good.  Be prepared for me to do alot of week one analysis this year.  Football is my cup of tea.. Anyway!

Raiders VS 49ers, pre-season week 1..

Well anyway, I can't wait til this season starts, cuz I love how Darren McFadden HITS THE HOLE!  An SEC version of Reggie Bush, meanin' bigger, stronger, may be a tid bit slower.  But unlike Bush.  Mr. McFadden HITS THE HOLE, with no hesitation, and he's fast as hell, can't wait to see 'em break one.  It's still a rebuildin' year for us.

Time To Vent: NFL set new guidlines for fans

Well, the news broke yesterday, I just found out today, so before I explain how pissed I am, here are the new guidelines.  The paying fans will get banned from games if they do the followin'..

  1. Behavior that is unruly, disruptive, or illegal
  2. Drunkenness and signs of alcohol impairment that result in irresponsible behavior
  3. Foul or abusive language or obscene gestures
  4. Interference with the progress of the game, including throwing objects onto the Field
  5. Failing to follow instructions of stadium personnel
  6. Verbal or physical harassment of fans from the opposing team

Ok...  Now before I get into this, some of this shit, yea, it's coo, it's reasonable.  But as far as the rest of it, THEY GOT THE GAME FUCKED UP!  I MEAN FUCKED ALL THE WAY UP.  Ok, disruptive / unruly behavior, how would you define unruly or disruptive behavior at a football game 1st off?  Give us some clarification please.

Now, On to rule two.  You have, beer vendors walkin' 'round every corner, and at the food stands, but you expect us to stay 100% sober muthafucka?  Hell, your company is sponsored by the biggest beer companies in America (Not sure 'bout the world.)  Hell, they compete to be the official beer of the NFL, and you wanna tell us hard-workin' damn fans to not take a complete day off of our troubles?  What the team we paid to go see is gettin' that ass smacked, you mean to tell me I can't get alil' buzz just to enjoy the game with the other people around me?  YOU GOT THE GAME FUCKED UP!!

Foul and abusive language? FOUL AND ABUSIVE LANGUAGE!  ARE YOU SERIOUS YOU PATRIOT LOVIN FUCK YOU?!  The damn football players we pay to go see curse and use obscene gestures all the damn time.  You're gonna ban them from the game while they're on the field?  You gonna ban the players or coaches from the post-game press conference when they curse?  No, you won't.  But you're tellin' me if a muthafuckin' TUCK RULE were to come around again, you really believe I'm gonna hold my tongue from blastin' the refs?!   What is this rule for, the kids?!  Kids have been goin' to these games for years, and have grown up n turned out fine.  I'm pretty sure all of us grew up hearin' a grown-up curse over anything dealing with sports.  If that kid is old enough to get offended or cry every time someone curses that lil' PUNK needs to get his people to take his ass home! Fuck that punk ass kid!  Yo, YOU GOT THE GAME FUCKED UP!

No verbal harassment of fans from the opposing team?!  This rule I'm sure would piss off my Seattle friends / bloggers on this site.  So basically, your tellin' the Seahawks they have to take down their lil' 12th man flag because they can't harass the other team that comes into their stadium.  Basically, you're tellin' us that we can't try to fuck up the QB's audibles when he comes up to the line.  Or we can't give the opposing team's defensive backs shit if they got burned by one of our WR's?!  You're basically taking out the purpose of home-feild advantage.  So Mike, from now on, when you go to a Seahawk game, you gotta shut your loud ass up, because if not, you'll be ejected from the game.  Commissioner Goodell, YOU GOT THE GAME FUCKED UP!

Me, unlike my bloggin' peers on this site, I live down in Louisiana, my team are the Raiders, haven't seen them play live ever..  I plan to get tickets to watch my Raiders play the Saints this year, but I, as a Raider fan have to mind my manners, and limit myself to a one beer limit or risk being kicked out.  Everybody isn't rich going to see their favorite teams play, we sure could use that cash towards gas, or save it in this fuckin' recession we're goin' through, but we do business with you.  YOU GOT THE GAME FUCKED UP!!!

And for the record.  I am PISSED about Cbssportsline.com for using Raider fans for their cover story for bad behavior fans use...  We Raider fans are very well mannered at these games, thank you.
