The Sisterhood of the Traveling Chain

Hahaha. This shit is making it's way around the United States right now. Jimmy Flint from Flint Michigan is seen in this picture with Young Berg's Chain. Dukeman, one of Michigan's top independent rappers, has said he wants to buy the chain for his son. So that may well be where it ends up next, but I got dibbs when it reaches Seattle. Lmao.

How original is Kanye?? All Of Kanye's Samples

Now..  Before I post this video.  I'd like to ask a few questions, because some of these samples I didn't know he basically re-did the beat from.  I just thought he mostly had voice samples, but the video shows he takes the beats too.

Now, I remember some years ago, when Murder Inc. was on top, and I was gettin' on Irv Gotti's ass for takin' old rap beats and re-doin' them.  Now Dr. Dre did some of this, but..  Dr. Dre only took peices for his song, not just throw in some extra kicks, snares, his, n 808s.  I mean some shit that's really really really really tight, are actually pretty old.  So, with damn near every beat you've heard Kanye do, is basically some old song with a few more tinks added it.  The part we credit him for the most (cuz I surely don't think he's a great rapper,) he actually hasn't masterminded it.  Not sayin' he's not capable for doin' some tight beats, because the "Workout Plan," or beats like that "B Alright" (Trina n Ludacris), track he did isn't on there.  But should he get the credit he deserves?

A Message From Talib Kweli

Hello friends and family,

On Sunday night the hectic pace of touring caught up with me and I had my lap top stolen. I put it down in front of a hotel for a minute, and a kid who just shook my hand and told me he was a fan was seen on a security camera picking it up and leaving with it. If you receive any fraudulent myspace/facebook messages, this may be the reason. This was tragic for me because I had important creative stuff I was working on in that computer, but I will bounce back. There will be a substantial financial reward for any email with information leading to the whereabouts of my black Mac Book. I don't want revenge. I just want my computer. Thank you for your time, and stay strong.

One!

This is like the rhymefest shit that happened. You are OFFICIALLY NOT A FAN IF YOU STEAL FROM SAID ARTIST. This includes downloading their albums. *exception granted if you can't afford it. Pay your rent before you buy music, dunnie.

Rap Jewlery For Sale!

An auction house will be putting 70 pieces on the block in an effort to raise in $3 million. The event, dubbed “Hip Hop’s Crown Jewels” will benefit three non-profit organizations under Russell Simmons‘ charity Rush Community Affairs. It will be open to the public (you’ll need tickets) and everyone will get a chance to try the pieces on in person. The signature bling being auctioned off used to grace hip-hop icons like MC Lyte, Biz Markie, Slick Rick, and modern-day flossers like Pharrell, Diddy, and 50 Cent. See which pieces will be available at Complex.

Of course if you can't come up with the cash, you could always young berg his ass when you see him in the streets. Till then...

However, I chalk it up to being 1am, little sleep, McDonalds in my stomach (ugghhh (c) Pusha), annnnnd a whole new game. It's a whole new universe. Everything is different. Forget everything you know about Madden and just start over. I got my life STOLEN.

With that said. Here's Fest's new video. Stolen.

Rhymefest's Stolen Ipod, Theif Speaks

This has been going on the last few days, and I saw it but it's just so hard to post everything I want to post and still work and get what I need to do done during the day and what I want to do when I get home.

Your source for all the exclusive Chicago Fakeshoredrive received an email from some kid who claims he stole Rhymefest's Ipod and goes on to blackmail him.

Read the whole letter

you were in a public place recently with your iPod hooked up to a sound system playing music for people, and I caught you slipping. You actually walked away for 15 WHOLE MINUTES!!! Then, you forgot it!!! Wow. I grabbed MAD music off of your iPod. And what did I find? A ton of songs you recorded for EL CHE. Maybe you shouldn't label the songs soo obviously.

This shit sounds incredible. Actually, this shit is HOT FIRE!!! Why isn't this shit out, nigga?

I got songs from your iPod. I'm going to leak a record from EL CHE every week until you drop a single or a video or some shit. The people have NO FUCKING IDEA how hot this shit sounds. Well, I'm going to show them. You had everything on your iPod. Even old, vintage shit. I'm gonna drop that, too. Until you or your weak-ass label keep your word and start dropping some fucking music. And, I'm not playing. I'm going to make you a better artist. I can't wait to see what you do.

Some idiots thought this was a marketing scheme brought out by Fest himself which is stupid. Fest isn't that type of rapper. And if you read the letter, it sounds like an obsessed fan acting stupid. He wants to be Captain Save Hip Hop. Anyway, Rhymefest responded and basically is calling his bluff:

Here's the Whole Letter. I'll just post an excerpt:

I don't wanna get dropped, I don't want bad relationships with Allido or any of the producers or artist feat. on my album who didn't get paid would bring. I DIDN"T DO THIS! And none of my niggaz would either. I don't know who this cat is. But if one of yall out there is good with computers find this dude 4 he do damage to more then just me. I love the people that support me but I wouldnt release my own songs and potentially kill my record sells again, that ain't smart or cool. Please somebody find this nigga!...

You ain't gotta like my shit, but gotdammit you will respect me as a man. Cuz at the end of the day I ain't no soft ass conscious rapper that won't punch a nigga in the face. I can take constructive critiques like I always have. But some of that hatin for no reason ain't called for. I never went out and talked about me and DRE or writing for the detox, thats shit that other niggaz did. I ain't no media whore. I make music cuz I love it. I make money without sellin my soul cuz I know how. Whoever can't respect that can keep riding your favorite radio rappers dick until it fall off in yo faggot ass!

So far, this guy has only released two records that Fest said were already out there anyway. So he thinks he's bluffing. Fest responded yesterday... if this were me. I'd drop a song about 10.5 SECONDS after I read that letter if I actually had something and I was a fucking idiot like this kid. But I'd keep it for me and some friends on some super exclusive shit. Actually, I think I'd return it. I wouldn't have stole it in the first place but if he left the shit. I'd try and return it to him AFTER I took everything off there. lol.

Anyway, what's yall opinion on this?

UPDATE: Curtis Chain Snatched & Kid Ratted Out By His PARENTS!

Skip to about 1:30 in and watch from there, kinda hard to see what's going on, but somebody runs up and snatches his chain and runs off. Pretty soon, the whole arena is gettin the fuck out. Who knows if Curtis is gonna shoot 'em all right? haha.

It still amazes me that this dude can fill up an arena. I guess word hasn't spread to Africa yet that this dude is a clown.

It's about damn time we hear a good news story about some people raising their kids right. Although, for 50 cent's chain, I might've let my kid get a free pass. haha.

According to The Angola Press, Carvalho was turned over to authorities by his own parents yesterday (May 4), after footage of the incident hit the Internet and spread throughout the world.
