"Another fun night in the SNSS studio as we were joined not only by Seattle legends Jake One and DV One, but by one half of the super production crew Tha Bizness, the big homey Dow Jones. We chopped it up about all the success him and Henny have had over the past few years, what it’s like working with Lil’ Wayne and Drake on their new albums, what they respect in other producers, and much more.
Oh…and we also played some great music from artists like Royce The 5′9″, Brother Ali, U-N-I, Devin The Dude, Elzhi, the Clipse, Blu, Kanye West, and more, but you already know. Peep another world premiere from Tanya Morgan too, as we rocked their joint, “On Our Way.” I think the Pep Love track may also be a premiere…shout to Omid and Otayo for sending that through. SNSS #201 - BANG BANG!

Fresh off last week's 200th edition of SNSS, we're hitting you over the head with another dope show, this time, packed full of exclusive joints that I believe we world premiered Sunday on KUBE. In today's internet age, the traditional idea of 'exclusives' has pretty much gone out the window, and regardless, I've never even been that big a fan of the whole notion anyway. Simply because a DJ plays something first, doesn't make it worthwhile ("NEW SOULJA BOY!!!!").


Instead, this past week, we ran some great songs that the general public just hasn't heard yet, but everyone will probably have soon. Some of them will be included on our upcoming Cornerstone Mixtape (with some other exclusives), but who knows if they'll leak before that drops in May.

Speaking of which, DJ B-Mello, J. Moore, and I finished up the mixtape last night (shout to Taybot and L for the engineering assistance!) and it sounds fresh. Sunday Night Sound Sessions- Dj Hyphen & J Moore

On this week's show, J returned from his trip to JamRock and regaled us with tales that will make everyone in the NW remember why our winters suck. Musically, we dipped across genres and played joints from Q-Tip, Jazzanova, Passion Pit, Jay-Z, Shad, Adele, Common, and more. Plus we had one of our strongest lineups for local music with tracks from the Blue Scholars, Dyme Def, and Framework. Just to top it off, we debuted Convinced's "Mass Appeal 2009 (Remix)" a few hours before it hit the blogosphere. Good times & good music. It's what we do.

Likely No Sunday Night Sound Session

Because it's now a Sunday Night Snow Session in Seattle. Along with the Yo! Son with DV One and the Blue Scholars shows. Damn near everything in the next couple days is canceled. Along with laughing at the crazy callers, Geo was in the building to talk about the upcoming Blue Scholars and Common Market shows at the end of the week here in Seattle. If you're in the town, you better be coming through Neumo's Thursday, Friday, and/or Saturday night to see two of our most talented groups tear it down like they always do.

Glasses Malone and Mistah F.A.B., also dropped in before performing at the Star Bar that night, so be on the lookout for that part of the show too!
