Sample of the Week!

Writer: Johnny Guitar Watson - We're No Exception
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Biter: Talib Kweli - Hot Thing
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Any excuse to post this AWESOME music video from an AMAZING album.

Also According to Wikipedia:
his music was sampled by Redman (He based his Sooperman Luva saga on Johnny "Guitar" Watson's Superman Lover song),Ice Cube, Eazy-E, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Jay-Z, and Mary J. Blige. He sometimes would enter the studio with rappers, at their request. Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre borrowed P-Funk's adaptation of Watson's catchphrase "Bow Wow Wow yippi-yo yippi-yay" for Snoop's hit "What's My Name."

P.S. Some fun Sample trivia for you. I might have been mistaken when I said that Audio Two's Top Billin had the most samples ever in Hip-Hop. Technically, as far as the beat and the whole thing, it could be. However, in this mixtape, Lyn Collin's "Think (About it)" is the original source of that "WOO! YEAH!" James Brown Sample that pops up in EVERY GOD DAMN SONG. (The Lyn Collins song was written and produced by Mr. Brown) Just for fun, I went and found a list. Check it out HERE.

The Results from Super Tuesday.. And The Winner Is

The big Boss himself.

Rick Ross clocked in with 198,000 copies according to Soundscan.  That's actually really good for this day and age of album sales.

The Big Boss Dogg Snoop Dogg rang in 137, still pretty nice numbers.

The Elephant in the room who we later found out in the sand only scanned 46,000.  And yall know good n well 50 is laughin' his ass off.

But other than this, this is a nice sign, three mainstream artists come out in the same day and we still get numbers like this.  Hopefully it can stay like this.

Prodigy Would Like to Clear Things Up

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I wasn't gonna fuck with this until I heard about P dissing my boys (Little Brother). *SMH* Prodigy of Mobb Deep (Sidebar: Why the fuck isn't he in jail yet? Got damn!) writes his little blog every day about nothing in particular, except that him and 50 got the rap game locked and everybody else should kiss the ring.

One of his recent blogs, he goes off on several people telling them they "suck at the maximum amount of sucking." That's ALMOST the amount of sucking P will be doing for 3 1/2 years if they ever put him away. Got damn. Including Jay-Z, Nas, Little Brother, Saigon, EMINEM, Lupe Fiasco, Jim Jones, Fat Joe, Joe Buddens, Talib Kweli, Red Cafe, *gasp* and there's more . Excerpts below:

WOULD SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME TELL THESE PEOPLE THAT ME AND 50 THE FIRST AND ONLY NIGGAS KILLING THIS INTERNET SHIT THE RIGHT WAY.

...

I READ A BLOG A WHILE BACK BY ONE OF THE MEMBERS OF THIS CORNY ASS GROUP CALLED "little brother" AND IN THE BLOG HE WAS EXPRESSING HIS OPINION AND FEELINGS ABOUT MOBB DEEP AND MYSELF IN PARTICULAR (PRODIGY) HE WROTE ABOUT HOW WE FELL OFF AND HOW UPSET HE WAS ABOUT IT. WELL LOOK HERE MEMBER FROM little brother YOU AND YA little GROUP NEVER FELL ON so YA NEVER EVEN GONNA EXPERIENCE FALLING OFF,,,,,YOU WILL NEVER BE AS RELEVANT, SELL AS MANY UNITS, OR EVEN BE ON THE SAME LEVEL AS PRODIGY OR MOBB DEEP SO DONT WASTE ANY MORE OF THE PEOPLE's TIME WITH YA ASSHOLE OPINONS.

I FEEL BAD ABOUT PUTTIN CERTAIN NAMES OUT THERE CAUSE SOME OF THESE DUDES IS ACTUALLY COOL PEOPLE BUT WHO THE FUCK! TOLD THESE PEOPLE THEY WERE GOOD AT MAKING RAP MUSIC.

...

JAY-Z AND NAS????? FIRST OFF NAS WAS ONE OF MY BIGGEST INSPIRATIONS. HE MADE ME BECOME A BETTER WRITER/SONG MAKER. AS FAR AS JAY-Z ,,,,HE GREW ON ME. BUT THE REALITY IS THAT THEY BOTH LET ME DOWN THE MINUTE THEY STARTED LYING AND TRYING TO FOOL THE PEOPLE INTO FOLLOWING THEM. THE REALITY IS THEY ARE BOTH MUSICAL PUNKS AND STREET PUNKS. I FEEL SORRY FOR THEIR FOLLOWERS

...

WE RUN OLYMPIC CIRCLES AROUND ALL AND ANY OF THEM. THERE IS NO COMPITITION FOR US.
