Jesse Jackson, Obama, and the N Word.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

If you missed the last post I did on Jesse. Mr. Jackson said that Obama talks down to black people and he wants to cut his nuts off. Except he forgot his microphone was still on. What didn't come out RIGHT AWAY was that he also said he was treating them like "untitled".

If you have a short term memory, and forgot what Jesse said about that particular word and how it applies to Nas album title, allow me to refresh:

"The title using the 'N' word is morally offensive and socially distasteful," Jackson said via a statement. "Nas has the right to degrade and denigrate in the name of free speech, but there is no honor in it. Radio and television stations have no obligation to play it and self-respecting people have no obligation to buy it. I wish he would use his talents to lift up and inspire, not degrade, making mockery of racism" .

That stuff speaks for itself. Jesse Jackson is never going to be taken seriously ever again. Of course he hasn't been for years from many people.

Nas is a real role model.

A Fresh Breakdown - Nas: N

Remember when we 1st heard the name of the album, we was like "Ey, this shit BETTER be epic as the name." It is...

Remember when we said "Man, nuthin' is gonna touch that "Cool" album from Lupe." We were wrong....

Album Ratin' - 4.8 / 5
Worth Buyin' - It better sell twice as much as Lil Wayne did his 1st week
Fav Tracks - Shit man, lol. All I gotta say is Jay-Z is still the man, but The N-Word is beatin' American Gangster this go-round, lol. The Boss "Mike Check" is gonna give a better break-down, be this is his favorite.

"In America you'll never be free, middle finger up fuck the police, damn... Can a Nigga jus BREATHE!?!"

Nas in Spin Magazine

Does hip-hop have a responsibility to be politically active?

We have the right to not give a fuck. Hip-hop was invented because politicians didn't give a fuck about the streets. So why should the streets give a fuck back? They did us a favor by wanting us eliminated, because what came out of that was some crazy-ass music that's helped out tons of people. You've got people chilling on yachts in Hawaii instead of in a jail cell because of hip-hop. I like the way hip-hop is now. It's grown up enough so that it can get involved with politics if it feels like it. But a responsibility? Hell, no.

Speaking of rappers on boats, what do you think about Jay-Z leaving Def Jam?

It was disappointing, because the industry didn't seem to be able to accommodate him with whatever he needed to grow. The industry is in a real strange place, and homey did what he had to do.

Jay is pursuing interests outside of hip-hop, while you've stayed more or less dedicated to music.

To me, creatively challenging myself is my version of owning the Nets.

You did film a reality show for MTV with Kelis, though. How come that never aired?

We watched two episodes and hated it. It was boring. We were too guarded. We weren't ready. I'm comfortable keeping all the reality in my music.

I think if the album goes well, we could see a few changes to the list.

Nas Folds

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Def Jam has just confirmed that Nas will change the title of his new album... It will NOW be called untitled.

"It's important to me that this album gets to the fans," Nas told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “It's been a long time coming. I want my fans to know that creatively and lyrically, they can expect the same content and the same messages. It's that important. The streets have been waiting for this for a long time. The people will always know what the real title of this album is and what to call it."

All Hip Hop has more.

This is sad. I almost thought he would pull it off.
